How I did it
How to build a sandcastle
It took me

How I did it: We were on vacation this August to the Oregon coast. We traveled there with another couple and their 2 small children. It was a perfect chance for everyone to build a huge sandcastle town.We built a main sandcastle- nearly 3 feet tall! We built an inner "keep" and moat. 2 bridges spanned the moat where you could enter another city of buildings, rolling hills and farm areas. learn a new language
I was an exchange student in 1987 12 months ago

When I was in the 8th grade- I participated in a “sister city” exchange program for our small town in Alaska where I was born and raised (YAY Ketchikan!).
I went to Kanayama Japan for 2 months. I lived with a “home stay” family named Sugimura. There were 16 of us kids that participated and then 6 chaperones. It was FUN!
We took “elementary japanese” for 3 months prior to leaving. And then, of course, were immersed in the language and culture as soon as we stepped off the plane in Tokyo. So, technically- I already know another language….
But I’d like to be actually fluent in Spanish someday.

visit disneyworld
I'm a Disney maniac!! 12 months ago

I’ve already visited Disneyworld twice- but that was before having a child to enjoy it with. I’d like to be able to take my daughter to Orlando and visit all the seperate parks in the area.

Here’s my Disney tally:
Disneyland: 17 times (most recently Nov. 2007)
Disneyworld: 2 times (most recently Apr. 1999)
Tokyo Disney: 1 (when I was a Japanese exchange student in 1987)
Paris Disney: someday…
Hong Kong Disney: someday….

learn to play an instrument
I want to learn more.... 12 months ago

I already play the clarinet, bass clarinet, and a little piano. But I’ve always wanted to learn to play the harp or the acoustic guitar. And learning to play “Guitar Hero” just isn’t cutting it! LOL!
