Have bought some dvds and a new book to learn German. I’ve started back at the beginning so that I can work through the difficult grammar stuff.

Am just doing a little bit every day and I’m loving it. Although I’m only learning a little bit every day, it feels like I already have a lot to talk about and will understand German conversation better. Love it!



Worry less.

Anxiety is like an ongoing rollercoaster that goes up and down. At the moment there’s quite a lot going on, so that’s triggering an increase in anxiety.

I want to think about positive possibilities for everything that I get anxious about. For instance, for the meetings that I’m anxious about next week, there’s a good possibility that I’ll prepare well and despite being nervous, will deliver a pretty good session.

For my endless worrying about my partner, I know that I’ve been in a place where I enjoy everything about our relationship before and that what I’m feeling is probably pre-wedding jitters. I want to notice those worries, find ways of talking about them to my partner (which I’m mostly doing) and then get on with enjoying the here and now. Not so easy for me, but things like yoga help….



Become a better presenter and facilitator

In my job, I’m called on to make presentations fairly regularly. And I’m also in situations where better facilitation skills would really help me. The thing is though, that I think that becoming better at both of these things is tied somewhat to another goal of mine (how am I like that?). Because if I can get past myself more, I can relax into a better understanding of where other people are at, making for more attuned decisions and more comfortable sharing. But there are some other things that I know I can do about this goal… for instance, I can seek out opportunities to work with people who are good at this stuff.
