Do 200 consecutive pushups (read all 2 entries…)
Untitled 6 months ago

It’s hard finding time each morning – I’m doing pushups over 20 minutes, with 6 minute breaks between sets.

I can fit in 350 all together, and this morning I did 120 consecutive pressups.

It’s weird that 100 comes pretty easily now (after being an unattainable goal last year).

So – just 80 pushups away from 200 consecutive. Keeping going!

For real – I’m psyched to do this!

Whether it takes avacado, masks, making pals of the staff at Body Shop, I don’t mind.

I have combination, unsmooth skin and it bugs me.

Tips and cheers are welcome.

Really...? 6 months ago

Completing the 100 pushups challenge was a real journey.

The impossible became achievable – it’s amazing how the body can respond when put under pressure.

Mine a year ago was more used to cigs and the sofa.

I know I can do this – the stamina and commitment’s there. I will have to find the time each morning.

My strategy – make 400 pushups every morning before cycling to the office. That should get me up to 150… Then plan stage 2 and strike out for 200.

Doing lots of pressups in 20 minutes each morning worked for me. For the last week, I was doing 80-85, before my arms gave.
Then I’d drink tea, do 65, drink coffee do 65, drink vodka, do the final 65 – in total 250 or so, which always took 19 minutes!
And this morning, effortlessly did 100 straight off the bat, no trouble, no sweat (not much).
So – the next challenge has to be 200 consecutive pressups. See you there…!

.. in 19 minutes. Second morning with those stats. So bearing down on 100. Just have to keep focused.

Almost back to 75 – the trick is, don’t hit 100 each morning. Do 200. Your numbers improve – I maxed at 50 a fortnight ago. Steady improvements. 200 each morning, Monday to Friday – takes 20 minutes. Will hit the hundred eventually (may take my total up to 250 if necessary, to speed up the process).

A couple of weeks ago, I had 75 nailed. But work got busy, we had a website to launch, and I didn’t have time even for breakfast. So I let it slide.

Just got back in harness tonight. Maxed at 50. But I’m in the groove now… another steady assault. 100’s there for the taking. Bring it on.

Deadline – Christmas.
(year – 2008).

Gone to 70 consecutive now. Doing 1,000 pressups a week in total and my arm strength improves as the weeks go by. 100 by Christmas seems in reach. If I stay stubborn and keep going!

Started this on 1st July: 25 consecutive was my max, and it took forever to reach 100. Now on 10th July, I’m hitting 38 consecutive pressups, and pull off a century inside 15 minutes.
