Baby Steps

So I’ve been reviewing my goals that I’ve set and determined I need to start to make progress on them if I’m going to accomplish them. I’ve looked at areas in which I can hit up a couple games and I’ve determined this years is going to be the summer of California baseball games + the famous Fenway Park.

For sure I’m going to be hitting up one of the Cubs-Red Sox games that are going to be played at Fenway in May. In addition, I’m also going to visiting all the parks in California (Dodgers, Angels, A’s, Giants and Padres which I’ve already been to). It should be a good summer and my smaller goal for the summer is to have visited a total of 12 of the 30 Major League Baseball Fields.

Progress is coming!

So I’m in my 4th week of training for this marathon and things are looking good. I’m not able to run everyday of my program but it’s ok cause I’ll be ready for January! I’m really gonna do this thing. For those of you that don’t know I’m currently living in Provo, Utah and it has an altitude of about 4250 feet MSL. As a result there’s less oxygen up here in comparison to where I grew up in Chicago. Adjusting has been quicker than I thought as my lungs aren’t hurting as much as I train. Today is my day off and tomorrow I have a nice 5 mile run waiting for me. I need to buy an IPod sometime this week so I can just run and listen to music rather than think of form and random stuff that I’ve been doing these past couple of weeks. Anyone reading this wish me luck. It’s a good 3 months from the race and I’m going to do it!

20 October 2010
I had $50 in my wallet and decided to go by an IPod shuffle so I can run without focusing on random stuff. I’m so excited to do my workout tonight when I have time.

Planning on accomplishing my goals!

So I was thinking a marathon isn’t something I do overnight like skydiving or some of my other goals being 1 time things. I need to plan on a specific marathon I want to do and start training. Most training programs are between 12-20 weeks and the one I’m going to implement is right between that range at 16 weeks. The marathon I am anticipating on competing in will be the Rock n’ Roll Marathon in Arizona on January 16th 2011. I figure it’s a great way to start off the new year and I will be signing up for the marathon before 15th September 2010 and will start my training after my friend’s wedding on the 27th of September. No doubt it will be challenging but I’M GOING TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL!
