Still 100% supermarket-free. This is easy and delightful – slow, of course, but that’s because everyone likes to chat :)
The greengrocer was a disappointment again so I’ve ditched him and set up a weekly fruit/veg-box delivery. Organic and nothing travels by air freight; sourced in Devon, mostly.
One of the best things about 2009 has been discovering that I can often see the International Space Station. Tonight, as I was walking home from work, it was clear and bright – and (a new development, this) it was being followed! Seems it’s the Space Shuttle Atlantis coming home for Thanksgiving :)
It takes about 5 minutes to travel across the sky and, when it disappears behind the yews in the garden, sometimes (according to the map on the website ) it’s already over Paris or even Berlin!
