I did this during the summer, but broke the habit when I got busy with a major project. Now working on making it a nightly habit again.

I used this formula:1 bar Ivory soap, grated1/2 cup Arm & Hammer Washing soda1/2 cup 40 Mule Team boraxUse one tablespoon per regular load. Don't forget to use your homemade fabric softener, too! Just pour 1/2 cup white vinegar in the rinse cycle. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I kept an eye on my electricity use and eliminated the wasteful practices I noticed. The biggie was reminding myself to hang clothes outside to dry rather than using the dryer. Read how I did it…

Lost my copy of this song and can’t find another version anywhere. Guess I’ll have to give up for now and reopen this goal if I find the song again.
Ran out of Downy two days ago. Now using white vinegar in the rinse cycle. Clothes are as soft as usual, and do NOT smell like vinegar.
Downy = $5.69 per bottle
Vinegar = $1.79 per bottle
And better for the earth, too.
