Five to go! I’ve completed my first quarter of the very fabulous and competitive graphic design program at Seattle Central Community College. My accumulative GPA was 3.73… straight A’s, with room for growth. I’m so excited, and have discovered this passion for design I never knew I had. It’s amazing—my creativity is being tapped into on a daily basis and my skills are being honed.

Since being back in Seattle, I have challenged myself, pushed the limits and have loved and lived with passion. Therefore, I think this is something I have officially accomplished, and will forever do.
I was surprised the other day when I logged into my 43Things account, and realized it had been 10 months since selling my car. Ten months. It feels more like two that I’ve been without a car, which I think speaks on how much I actually need a car. In fact, my friend Erin lent me her car this week while she was on the east coast, and borrowing it has only reminded me how nice it was NOT to have a car!
I don’t have to look for parking, pay for parking and fill the tank with gas. No insurance, no payments and no driving stress. Life has been even better, fuller and less stressful since my elimination of a vehicle, that I’m not only going to call the first year a success, I’ll be focusing on a second year moving forward. The only thing I might consider is a scooter, but we’ll see…
