Missed a chance 16 months ago

I was on a beach with friends last week during a holiday. Instead of building a sandcastle I sat with the friend that was not going to build anything. The other two each started thier own sandcastle and then, once they destroyed the others, started working on one together.
I might have been more inclined to join in if I was wearing shorts instead of jeans and if the temperature had been closer to what I consider beach weather.
Maybe at the end of the year.

Give blood (read all 2 entries…)
First time donation 17 months ago

I’m glad that I did this, even with the minor pain of the needle. My issues with new things was a bigger problem though, I felt ill from before I showed up and the loss of blood didn’t help. It would have been good to know that they wanted a person to have drunk nearly a liter of water before donating as well, that’s about as much as I drink in a normal day.
The next time I donate (and I do intend to donate again) I’ll make sure to eat more beforehand and have appropriate food available for afterwards.
