I’m down 60.5lbs now. I’m on the other side of this hill. My beginning weight was 247lbs, I’m now 186.5lbs. I feel friggen amazing. The whole food/raw food lifestyle is the only reason I’ve gotten this far. I’m so blessed to have been educated on how to actually eat.

How I did it: I'm still holding to the whole foods, raw foods diet. Focusing all my attention to what the human body is actually designed to digest and to use as fuel, has been my saving grace. Going back to common sense is really the only thing you can do when "diet foods" and "cutting back" doesn't work. I asked myself, what did God design us to eat? Was it MSG? Partially Hydrogenated Oils? Also, what would God tell you is the point of eating in the … Read how I did it…
How I did it: The time this took is difficult to gauge because there was a very long lull in my efforts between the first 20 and the last. Each 20lb loss was lost with different methods...I owe the first 20lbs to just reducing my junk/processed food eating, and exercising here and there. I let go of pop, the vending machine and bagels. I tried to decrease empty calories and reduce how much white flour carbs I ate. Then there was a majorly frustrating pl… Read how I did it…
I’ve been playing video games since I was blowing on Super Mario game cartridges to get them to work in my over used NES. I was probably one of the only real gamer chicks I knew well… ever. I was a pro at Mortal Kombat, wasted HOURS on Zelda Ocarina of Time and went on to wasting more and more hours of my life on Elder Scrolls games, Kingdom Hearts, every Resident Evil, Halo, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, Guitar Hero and every other last new release that came out. I played them all, and I was persistent in playing every game 100% All of this… since I was 5… 20 years of gaming, what did it get me? A high gamerscore? Bragging rights? Pride? Is that all? Literally at least 5-10 hours almost every other day… for 20 years, and that is all I have to show for it. It got me nowhere and it means nothing. I learned nothing useful in the real world, and it only made me a lazy loser. Yey.
I guess when I started dating my fiance 5 years ago, it kind of hit me. He had no real interest in video games. He loved the outdoors, and would rather hike for 6 hours than hang out on the couch when he got out of work. He dealt with my video game addiction lovingly, but I had to come to this point myself. I had to realize just what a waste my life was with these video games.
Since I’ve given up video games, I have so much more time in my life. Instead of spending all my time alone in a dark room playing Halo 3, I’ve been out spending time with friends, getting fresh air, and enjoying being with my family. I’ve lost some weight even… I move around a whole lot more. My days seem so much longer, and I have so much more time getting things done. I stopped hiding behind the fake worlds of video games and started facing the real world. I’ll be getting married in October, and I’m looking forward to being a mom sometime in the future. I’ll be sure to keep them off the video games. I’d never want them to waste their youth like I did.
My most up to date status on this goal of reaching a BMI of 22. It’s going to be a long haul, but I’ve made more progress that I ever thought imaginable, so here we go. Let’s see how much more I can blow my own mind…
