Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Helping people, making a difference

I’ve always been strong, physically, emotionally and mentally, but I never talked much, always kept pretty much everything inside. And since joining this personal development and leadership program almost a year ago, everything is so different. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to anyone wishing better results in their lives and in the lives of people around them! If you don’t change what you are doing, or your thinking, nothing is ever going to change, right?

I started out mostly focused on personal development, thinking that leadership was never going to be for me, but how things changed! I have so many dreams and projects that I not only don’t have choice but to start thinking about leadership, I genuinely want to become more of a leader and life coach – it’s my turn to help other people and the people around them! Making a difference in their lives, and around the world!

This program has helped me learn and grow so much! Gave me more confidence, helped me think bigger, help me realize that I was giving myself excuses, like: I’m not good enough, I can’t do this, this isn’t for me. YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH AND YOU CAN DO THIS, THIS CAN BE FOR YOU!!

Books that have helped me:

- Personality Plus by Florence Littauer
- How to Have Confidence and Power in Dealing with People by
Leslie T. Giblin (not finished but making an impact already!)
- The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz
- Voyage of a Viking by Tim Marks (not finished either, but boy I
can’t wait to finish it!)

I am working on becoming a LIFE coach, and relaying my story to others, from when I was younger; this little bullied, introverted, shy girl to this extroverted, opened-up girl full of excitement (well, excitement I’ve always had but it was always hidden and kept in), and now unafraid of other people’s criticism. Criticism? Bring it! It can only make me better and stronger!

My name is Alice Martel, would you like to join me?

Overcome my speech problems (read all 2 entries…)
Speaking better comes from experience. Learned a lot in the last year.

Speaking better comes from experience, for me. It’s true that I was having a little difficulty when I was younger because English was foreign to me but now, no problem at all. I think most of the speech problems I “thought” I had was with my ex because we were so different and incompatible and we would fight all the time and the stress would make me doubt myself and what I was saying. Also, he was very stubborn and closed-minded, and every time I talked about future projects and dreams he would shut me down and tell me how stupid I am and all this is.

I’ve always been strong, physically, emotionally and mentally, but I never talked much, always kept pretty much everything inside. Donate blood (read all 2 entries…)
Blood, it's in you to give. / Give Blood. Give Life.

Work had a blood drive. Made an appointment and donated. Simple as that. It can save up to 4 lives. Was told that it would be in someone else in just about 4 weeks (they are that low in blood – couldn’t believe it).
