Someone recently gave me some food for thought by explaining why listening was more complicated than speaking, because speaking only requires that you process your own opinions and perspectives, while active listening requires you hear what is being said, understand its meaning, compare it to your own opinions and perspectives, and assess your reaction to it all at once. I need to stop just nodding and smiling.

Hmm.. i did the sleeping thing a lot this week, and got to bed before about ten thirty on average… and it seems to be showing in my grades!! i.e. ive done no homework to speak of… yet I can stay awake in my history class to cram for the calculus… seems to work well enough.
All in all I feel better this week, and have done better on those tests than previously. Plus I totally beat the socks off of brianna bench maxing in weightlifting yesterday…
Maybe a more attainable goal would be ‘survive the year in IB’ but I like to stretch the limits. Just a junior in highschool, but ive already got several gray hairs. I guess this goal has been set in my head several times, and pretty much ignored, but as first quarter is coming to an abrupt end, its being pointed out to me that ive pretty much sucked at actually meeting it. So Im going to stop making excuses, recognize the fact that I really dont have as much on my plate as others do and I could… and start putting forth a more genuine effort to not suck at life. gasp for air now that Ive put it into words and finished my physics homework, Im going to go to bed and be happy.
