wake up earlier
Untitled 4 years ago

So I just graduated college in June. My college schedule was pretty crazy and basically just inconsistent. Not only did it vary by semester, depending on what courses I was taking, but by day too. This one semester last year, I had a class at 8:30AM every other day and then at like 1:15PM opposing days. That’ll really mess your body up. Then, on the weekends, I would sleep until like 1-2-3PM because I didn’t really have anything to do but homework, which I could do anytime. It was really bad.

Then, this summer, I was applying for jobs. I would wake up at like 10AM and go to bed at like 2 or 3AM. Then the next day I would sleep till noon and go to bed even later. I did this until I got to the point where I would wake up at 3 and go to bed at like 6am, which was just stupid. Anyway…

I got a job that’s like 1.5 hours commute each way. Now I go to bed at like 10:30-11PM and wake up at 6AM. I’m feeling a lot better - like just healthier. But also, psychologically better because I feel like I have the whole day ahead. When I would wake up later, I felt like I was wasting time. When I would stay up later, I just felt blah. All in all, it’s worth waking up earlier to me, but I really enjoyed sleeping late. Those days are gone, even on the weekend. I woke up at 6AM this morning - it’s Sunday!

find a hobby
Untitled 4 years ago

I realize I have a good skill-base upon which I could build some hobbies, but I don’t know what I want to do. I just started a new job - my first real job after college - about 5 weeks ago. Thus, my life’s in a real state of flux—not quite settled yet. But it’s become apparent that I really don’t have much time during the week for hobbies since I get home from work late and go to bed early so I can go to work the next day, early in the morning. I’m looking for a weekend hobby that I can do alone OR with others, but not obligately both. My brother is in the volunteer fire department, which occupies most of his weekends. I see that it’s something he really enjoys. But I’m not sure I’d like to commit to a hobby like that. I’m afraid of it gobbling up my entire weekend. But then, I reason, that hobby’s not for me. HELP!

create gmail account
One of the best things (on the internet) I've done 4 years ago

Gmail’s awesome. I’m trying to get an invite to Orkut, so if someone could help me out with that, I’d be really happy and grateful.
