Its a terrible habit. I can feel the negative effect it has on my nasal passages, and how I breathe. I also want to start working out more regularly and the smoking makes it a lot more difficult than it already is.
Currently I smoke about 10 cigarettes a day. I want to lower it to 7. Then after 3 weeks to 5. And a month after, go down to say 2 or 3. Also, I don’t want to use patches as I enjoy the act of smoking and need to get rid of the actual act.
In order to achieve this there are a few things that I have to figure out:
1) How do I decrease the craving and not continue to smoke 10 a day. Wear a plastic tie around my wrist and snap it when i get cravings?
2) I notice that, at work, I smoke when I want a break and (ironically) a breath of fresh air. Can I replace the act of smoking with something else that will get me out of the office for around 10 minutes?
