We are supposed to close next month now. I will have to ask the landlords if I can stay another month at my apartment. Luckily there are a couple of other units unrented so the should be open to our staying.
I’m trying to not be angry or upset. It’s turned into this almost spiritual thing. I need to let go of desire…but I still can’t help but keep hoping nothing else goes wrong and we get the house!

How I did it: I fell out of the habit of going to the library last spring. I had money to burn, so I started going to the bookstore instead. It started innocently enough with a trip to the used book store to trade in stuff that was clogging up my shelves. And then I found myself back at the Borders.I'm a really bad book hoarder. I'm trying to get out of the habit of it. I'm trying to change my qualifications for which books are worth owning. This sounds… Read how I did it…
So the loan procuring chick waited until the last possible minute to submit my loan and it seems that the underwriter’s guidelines have changed, and since I have only been back at my job for 15 months, and part of my wage is tips, I don’t qualify for the loan I was pre-qualified for. Everybody told me that was impossible. Everybody kept telling me there is NO way that you can’t get a loan you are pre-qualified for.
Well kids. I’m here to tell you, you sure as heck can be denied even if you’ve been pre-qualified.
The only silver lining in the whole thing is that I can still get a loan if my parents will co-sign…which they will. But now we have to jump through even more hoops in a really short period of time. And now I am going to have to move in an even shorter time frame.
We are in a full on purge. I try to do this every time I move. I look for things that have been undisturbed for a long time. Things wrapped in yellowed newspaper.
I always cull books and clothes. But sometimes it’s the things you ignore. The oh-I’ve-always-had-that-so-I-always-will type of stuff.
I got rid of these two “fancy” dragon collectibles I’ve had since I was a teen. They are really pretty, and I can remember them being expensive…but WTF…I am never going to put them out on a shelf and admire them again. Should I cart them around for all of eternity just because the cost $X 20 years ago?
Maybe somebody will find them and love them instead of me keeping them on the top shelf of the closet until the end of time.
