I did it last year... 4 years ago

... and it was awesome. Yes, I won. Yes, I finished my novel (though not till June – I wanted a break for a few months, lol).

There are some awesome suggestions on the NaNo boards, however, my biggest suggestion is to AVOID the NaNo boards. They’re super addicting. ;) They can be your reward for a good 1,667 words done, but don’t DARE get on them beforehand.

Give yourself treats. Buy a bag of candies you like (I highly recommend “Bites” candies), and reward yourself with one for every 100, 200, 500, insert-your-chosen-number-here words. It works like a charm.

And, of course, the end-all tip: WRITE!

I ROCK. 4 years ago

I did NaNoWriMo last year, and it was an AWESOME experience! Not only do I have a novel that I’m going to be submitting to publishers soon (eek!) I realized that when I put my mind to doing something, I can actually do it. No. Way. Yeah, it rocks. I am a worthwhile human being! ;) I would HIGHLY recommend this… just limit your time on the NaNo boards, they’re way addicting…
