How I did it: I joined a gym and cut down what I ate, but not enough soon enough. I wish I had gone to the gym more often and eaten less earlier. Late in March I started going to the gym every week day and looked seriously at what I was eating. My weight loss had stalled, it was because I wasn't doing enough and had let junk snacks creep back into my diet. I have been on HRT since August 2007, my name changed in March this year. SRS is to be in June 2009. It’s a long long process – not just an operation.
I had a miserable time, broke down and worked out what was wrong with me. That was both difficult and easy to do. Easy because I really knew what was wrong, and difficult because to fix the problem I would have to give up almost everything I loved and had worked for over 20 years.
In the end it was literally do or die.
