Believe it and you will achieve it, see it (visualize it) and you will be it. The more you think about and focus on the thing you want or want to become, the harder your mind works to identify solutions/answers to get you there. However, you have to truly believe that you can…

Persistance toward your goals is what leads to success more than any other thing… but to persist takes the right attitude, so they are inseparable.

I got out of the habit when I moved to NYC. I wanted to camp on the roof of our high rise apartment in Manhatten, but my wife though I was nuts! I should have done it anyway… I am looking forward to this. I used to camp quite a bit when I live in Colorado.

Whenever feasable I plan to get to my destination under my own power- riding, running, etc. This will add to my overall fitness and simply makes me feel good. I truly enjoy it!

Being positive is a cycle just like being negative. The more positive you are, the more positive things you attract, the more positive you see things… the cyle continues. I just need to stay vigilent and establish the cycle.

How do you be patient when you’re behind the person going 35 in a 40? How do you be patient with people that can’t get to the point? How do you be patient with your son when he wakes up in the middle of the night and screams and the only thing that comforts him is you next to the crib rubbing his chest (and still doesn’t want to go to sleep!)? Unfortunately I know the answer, but almost always FAIL miserably in implementing it. I believe the answer is asking yourself, “What’s great about this? How can I use this to my advantage, and how can I make this better?” You can probably find the answer in one of those three questions. The key is to ASK them when frustrated and follow through on the answer… TOUGH.

This one is hard to do without offending people. I am not talking integrity here, I mean being forthright, straightforward. I just have to work on this one slowly…

You are only as young as you feel. Half of that is how you feel mentally… how you feel mentally has a great affect on how you feel physically. I want to improve my attitude and therefore reduce stress.

One thing I notice as I get older is that I am definately getting less limber. I rarely stretch and it is catching up to me, especially since a lower back injury in ‘02. Can anyone recommend a good stretching resource? I realize this is going to be vital as I get older and push my body harder.

If I am lucky, I will get to Europe on my employer’s dime. Much traveling to be had… hot springs and great hikes in Iceland, Quaint villages (and Irish pubs) in Ireland, UK (London), Stay in an Ice Hotel in finland, See reindeer in Sweden, ski Chamonoix in France, Octoberfest in Germany, Switzerland (need I say more?), the beauty of Italy… the list goes on!

Talk about getting in touch with nature and yourself! I think this would be an amazing way to really experience one of the great trails. I am partional to the Continental Divide Trail, but the Pacific Crest Trail sounds pretty amazing too. Has anyone done any of these?

I lived in Colorado for 7 years and alpine/tele/mono-skied the CO greats. I was even fortunate enough to be a ski instructor for 10th Special Forces Group for a couple of seasons. I want to experience these other places that I think would be great skiing. I will ski them all eventually!

I realize that I have been so focused on ME lately (don’t we all fall into that trap in this ME-centric world we live in??!!) that I haven’t been focused on my wife and son (Noah-1 yr old) as much as I want to. I want to help out more with Noah and do things for my wife without her asking… go back to “courting” her and being romantic, and play more, and incorperate Noah more into all my activities. He is growing up so fast!

...act! Anthony Robbins once said, “Don’t dream, do. Don’t want, get.” I need the courage to follow this excellent advice and force myself to just get out there, however small a step in the right direction.

When I retire in 7 years I plan to either ride or run accross america before I start my second career. I can’t think of a more fulfilling challenge to be my retirement gift. It’s a little over 7 years away and I am already excited!

I have been in “The best shape of my life” several times… each time a little bit better in some area- cardio, strength, nutrition, etc. This year I want to bring it all together to holistically be in the best shape of my life. For example, making it a habit to make food choices that nourish my body, and go as many places as possible under my own power- run, ride, etc. Additionally, as part of my holistic approach, I will work on getting into the “best shape of my life” mentally and spiritually.

Anybody interested in knowing what it takes to reach the next level- true, comprehensive health and fitness- I would be happy to share my experiences, hear yours, provide advice, or whatever interests you. I am a certified nutrition and wellness consultant and would be happy to provide an info/advice on the topic. I have also run a couple of mountain marathons (to include Pikes Peak marathon) and plan to complete an mountain ultra this summer. I have also scored the highest Army Physical Fitness Test score (414) that I am aware of. I only mention these things because I have some background in training for these things because it is my passion.

I added a K&N high-flow filter and removed the third catalytic converter and added a Magnaflow exhaust. This alone made a noticable difference. Next I am going to add an up-pipe/downpipe combo with an ECOBB tuner which should get me close to the horsepower I desire. It already beats just about anything off the line with the combinatino of high-torque, gearing and all-wheel drive. It shocks a lot of kids when they are looking at my beautiful twin-tipped magnaflow muffler!
