So I haven’t done anything terribly impressive. But I feel as though the mental transformation has taken place. I know why I don’t want soda and it is somewhat solidified so that I don’t mindlessly grab one. I should be able to continue with this, it looks good. Been drinking even more water than usual lately too so that’s a plus

How I did it: I was looking for a job for about a week. Then the past few days I hadn't looked really. I got a call this morning from a guy who is the boss where I used to work. See my old boss stopped working there and it was a temporary job. So he basically called and asked if I was working in the fall, I said sure. It's a job as a tutor at college less than 20 hours a week though, but I am a full time student. Read how I did it…
So I’m quitting soda. I don’t drink it everyday, but when I do I usually drink a few. I only drink diet soda, though. I want to stay away from the artificial sweeteners and the bad realationship the soda causes me to have with certain foods. My mother buys the soda, and she drinks a whole lot. So it will be around whether I like it or not.
Often it is easy at first to keep up on a goal, but as time goes by you become less conscious of the goal. To prevent this I am going to use color coded rubber bands for specific goals. The rubber bands go on the right wrist, and if I slip up they go to the left for one day. Then back to the right wrist the following morning. This is to keep me aware, and having it on the left wrist all day is a reminder that decisions have consequences. I will keep a tally by color of how many days I have succeeded. When I reach 43 days straight, I will consider this goal done.
