We spent some time hanging grid racks and building spice shelves in the back entry between the kitchen and back door, so that allowed me to move a lot of things there that had been making the kitchen cupboards and shelves overfull. Then I reorganized things in the kitchen. There is still room for improvement but the main issues have now been addressed and the organization works much better for me now!

We’ve worked on this a bit more but decided to table it and finish in the spring. This turned out to be so much bigger a job than I ever anticipated. And the main work is done. I’d really wanted to finish the trim before winter hit but just ran out of time and warmth…soooo in the spring, we will finish the trim, paint the front door, paint the porch floor, paint the contrasting edge at the top of each window, and paint the foundation blocks.
Despite the fact that it isn’t completely done, the house looks SO much better now than before I started.
We finally finished this in mid-October. We removed a lot of the furniture that was making it feel crowded, rearranged what was left and cleaned! I hung different curtains, some art on the walls, got a new lampshade for the side table lamp. I am considering this done.
I’d still like to hang a wine and wineglass rack on the wall, but the main cleaning and reorganizing is DONE!
