How I did it: I went to New York to see a Red Sox/Yankees game on the 4th of July, 2008. Being in such a big city was really overwhelming to me and it took me a while to get over the differences. It was a complete 180 from southern Virginia, where I'm from. I didn't enjoy my actual stay in the city, but the weather was horrible and a few other factors definitely contributed.
