Today I am grateful for:
1. a warm, fall Saturday.
2. finding $10 in my old gym bag
3. nice breakfast with PF
4. nice morning run that felt good; even after yesterday’s 11 mile run
5. buying a new pair of my favorite socks (Balega) at the local running store (I can’t believe I get excited over socks, but these socks are great!)

How I did it: There was lots of preparation that went into this adventure.. On the biking side; lots of long rides over multiple days to get use to the long day in the saddle. Mixed in was a lot of hill climbing. Even those we prepared on were not of the length and grade of those we encountered on the ride, but it helped. 3. being able to take PF to lunch for her birthday.
4. half day of work tomorrow
5. making butternut squash soup and having it come out edible. It was actually very good. I had two bowls.
