A bit of a post holiday celebration today as International Woman’s Day was Wednesday. For whatever reason, it took until today to watch the movie commemorating this day. To find the movie, I asked the assistance of a female colleague, someone I know to be a truly international woman. The conversation went something like this:
P: (Looking in my office) “Hey, what are you working on?”
Me: “Well, I am researching a movie to watch for International Woman’s Day. It is today you know. Any recommendations?”
P: (without any hesitation) “9 to 5, Dolly Parton and Lily Tomlin.”
Me: (laughing) “I don’t think that quite fits the international theme I was looking for.”
P: “Right, but it does deal with women.”
Me: “Yes, it does. I was thinking of some more like Amelia.”
Me: “Amelie? No, Amelia. You know, the story of Amelia Erhart.”
P: “Oh yes, I have never seen it. I was thinking Amelie. It is French. Here, let’s look it up.”
We look it up on IMDB. And it looks interesting.
Me: “Well, if it is on Netflix, then maybe I will watch it.”
P: “You should watch it. It is cute and quirky.”
Me: “Good, I like quirky.”
I just watched it. It was cute. It was quirky. I liked it.
