After years of performing in school musicals and local theatre I was thrilled to finally make it to New York and see my first show on Broadway; Dancing at Luhgnasa. That same trip my friend and I saw Guys and Dolls with Faith Prince and Nathan Lane. Since then I’ve seen others, but my first Broadway play and first Broadway musical were by far the most exciting.

San Francisco years ago. (Do DalJeet’s and NaNa’s store still exist?) Anyway, I got creepers and a pair of pointy-toed leopard fur and black leather Winklepickers. I feel bad about the poor leopard now. But I’d still get the creepers.
After my first class I felt good for a week afterward. It was very difficult to get through the class, but afterward I was dismayed at how effective it was—my body was obviously ridding itself of junk for the next several days. With my asthma, I came to accept a certain level of breathing as “normal”. After the class my lungs felt clearer than I ever knew they could be. I want to practice it regularly.
