I like to think I am a very loyal person. At least several of my friends told me so. And I think I am.
A tiny buddha statue; I gave to a parting colleague for good luck. A pair of leather gloves which were a little too small for me. I gave them to my mum.
Questioning your consumerism is a good thing I think. Most of the time I feel apalled by how we’re all the time stimulated to buy, buy, buy and consume more than we need. It seems these days people know no other way to spend their time off than to shop and buy crap that essentially doesn’t make them happy.
I’ve been replacing my dish detergent with an ecological version, and I’ve also bought ecological laundry detergent (from Ecover). I am glad to use these products, even though they cost a little bit more. For cleaning the house I use soda and winey instead of bleach and synthetic stuff, and that works for me. Anyone out there reading this got some other good advice on this subject? Thnx!
Learned another recipe from my mother in law… made pumpkin – the surinamese way, i.e. with garlic, onion, tomato and dried fish. totally delicious, so this is definetely going to be a new favorite…
I love this goal, so i’m joining. I’m very curious to know in what way all of you 43-tingers who adopted this goal question your consumerism…
My mother in law taught me how to make my own chutney. I made three jars of apple chutney – one jar is half finished already. I love it! And the chutney is quite easy to make too. So i’ll definetely experiment some more witn making my own chutneys.
This has been my goal for some time now… and I haven’t really made any new friends yet. I’ve met several nice and interesting new people through work, but I can’t really call them friends…
