I went to an information session regarding JET programme today, and my fears that the program would be shut down have been mostly put to rest. However, it does look like the program is rapidly becoming more and more competitive as the economic recession drones on. I am considering doing my study abroad in Japan now, as I want any possible advantage I can get for my application. I’m still a couple years away from that, however, but I’m still excited about it.

I am down to 198, but I am not as close to looking like what I thought I would at this weight. Based on measurements of my bodyfat and BMI, I am considering losing an additional 10 lbs.
It is important to note, however, that the weight itself was not a HUGE deal, though I would like to be in a lower weight class for Judo tournaments. Really, the issue was that I wanted lower body fat.
Up until now, my exercises have been almost entirely cardiovascular. Next week, I will begin to dedicate much more of my workout time to weight training, now that I will have someone to go to the gym with and spot me. While this will increase my BMR, my weight is likely to go up as well. I’ve have no idea how much muscle I will end up adding, though I have no plans to get super ripped or anything like that.
For now the goal stands, but it may or may not need to change in the coming weeks.
I’m definitely making progress! As of today, my time was 9’17”! Two minutes off my original time! I can even run longer (3 miles is my distance record) though I have to pace myself a bit more.
I’m very excited about this one, though I am sure that the progress from here will be in smaller increments.
