I had a relapse yesterday after 4 days. But I am going to start over tomorrow (that’s when the pack will be gone).

My eleven year old started football, for the first time, a few weeks ago and it dawned on me that he’s actually growing up. I watched this child who wants to be a star like his father play with such determination and it made me proud. He caught the most beautiful passes and he took the hits without a care.
He also started band. He really wanted to play drums but he ended up with the trombone. But he’s proud of it and he said it is easier to put together than the other instruments. We have a new school year with a lot of firsts and it just makes me proud to be a mother.
I have been smoking for the past 13 years. My father-in-law just died this weekend from cancer. Although I believe it wasn’t the cancer that killed him, I really think if the other pre-existing conditions weren’t there it would have. I don’t want my husband or my kids to go through that. I don’t want to miss out my kids growing up. I want to look at my husband 50 years from now and laugh and smile with him and remember when. I know it will be hard because I’ve tried before…but it’s time.
