How I did it: I started last autumn. I was inspired by the TV series "What to Eat Now!" I'd never eaten pumpkin before - fabulous. I've also grown some of my own food this spring and summer. I still buy the occasional thing that isn't seasonal but it is now an item that won't grow in this country anyway rather than an import of something that is out of season. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I lost weight and bought flattering clothes with an emphasis on quality rather on quantity. Although I'm still only half way to my ideal weight I now have a positive body image which has made me so much happier! I no longer feel as though I want to hide. I feel so much more confident. How I did it: I took it step by step - made plans, tried ideas and if they didn't work tried something else rather than just giving it up as a bad job! I made sure that I budgeted for each job and tried to stick with it. I constantly kept in mind what I was aiming for and why especially on the days when it just felt like really hard work! I had a surprise invitation to a bonfire night supper. A group of Catholics remembering Guy Fawkes and having great fun and great food! Thanks Sisters!
I walked barefoot on a sandy beach. I know I must have done this as a child but I don’t remember. It was my Birthday – the sun was shining, we had lunch on a verandah overlooking Lyme Regis beach and then we went walking on the sand – it was such bliss. It’s a very grounding experience – walking barefoot in public is not usually acceptable. It put me in mind of an expression I’d read the day before in one of the tourist leaflets about that part of the coast – “Tread lightly, breathe deeply.” Highly recommended experience and I’ll be doing it again!
