I totally support the plight of the Burmese and in particular Aung Sung Su Ky (oops not sure if I’ve spelt that right). She is one of the women I have listed in my goal ‘50 women little girls should admire instead of symbols of stupidity and weakness’. I urge everyone to sign a petition and do anything else they can. I hope the years of silent oppression will end and democracy reign!

Well I didn’t end up moving cities (that may be my November experience now instead!) but I did something else new and fulfilling instead last weekend! I went to my first ever Kiwis league test against Australia in Wellington, it was actually the 100th test match between our two countries. I had a fabulous time even though we lost! Most of my friends know I love league and one of them shouted me a ticket to the game and I was rapt because I had never seen the Kiwis live. A group of seven of us did a roadtrip to Wellington (about 6 hours away) and stayed in a lovely little apartment. I think the roadtrip and the general atmosphere was half the fun really. We were also able to see the Maori Under 18s play the Aborigine Under 18s, and the Junior Kiwis vs the Junior Kangaroos before the big game.
All in all it was an awesome experience. I came back with a big flag and a Kiwis cap too :) Next year Kiwis…
This photo is of us all painted up ready for the game to begin.
