10 lb meaty cow bit
2 lbs potatos
3 lrg onions
1 lb carrots
1 tbs salt
1/4 cup oil
Get a pretty big roasting pan – they are really cheap but make sure that it will fit into your oven – use your hand to coat the inside with oil, then put in the meaty bit, put some salt and oil over it and rub it in thoroughly and then cut up your onions and put them in; also coating them with oil and salt. Put it all in your oven and cook it for five hours at 300 C., after, take it out and put in your potatoes and carrots, in that order; coating them in oil and salt, as well. Cook it for 2 more hours. Oh yeah, make sure you keep the affair covered with a lid, it helps keep moisture inside the pot.
Serves 1 for four days, 2 for two days, 3 for one and a third days, etcetera etcetera, ad infinitum.
You can also add other veggies, tubers or fruit, but keep in mind how long each takes to cook, ‘cause there is nothing grosser than slimey, over-cooked veggies.
The idea is to know how things cook and taste together and adjusting it all to fit your meal, budget or supplies. And while this recipe is not technically quick, its very very easy, and despite the cooking time the preperation time is very short.
