How I did it: This goal has been all about writing for me. It has not been about always making sure I sit down and write every day--although that has been part of it, there are other goals for that. This has been more about what I write.I went to a talk given by author Garth Nix a while back. He discussed how he often gets asked what writers should write and how to predict the market. How I did it: Before beginning a session of writing on computer (or transcribing a session of writing I did by hand) I took note of the word count of the document. I then subtracted that number from the total I ended up with at the end of the session. I used graphs to chart my progress by week, month and year. This allowed me to see the trends that formed across time and helped me to set realistic goals for my writing. Read how I did it…
Rooibos with lemon myrtle and a touch of aniseed.
Tried at the same tea shop as #42. The shop mixed up my mum’s order and she ended up with a pot of this as well as a pot of plain lemon myrtle. This was too strong on the lemon myrtle for me, but it was good to try something a bit different.
I have enjoyed this goal so much. It’s hard to believe that this is the end of it. I shall definitely keep being open to trying new teas.
I went out to a tea shop with some family and friends recently and decided I’d try an oolong tea, just for something a bit different. The waiter talked me into trying this instead of the plain oolong, saying it was a bit more refined. I found it quite a lovely tea and really enjoyed it. I’m still curious to try the plain oolong, though!
