Well I think I figured out a few things about what I want to do with the rest of my life.
First, I learned that I don’t have to feel constricted by careers. I can do just about anything if I really set my mind to it and even invent my own position if there isn’t one yet.
Second, I want to constantly grow and learn and challenge myself to never settle for less. I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and never accept a life of lazy-ness and dependency.
Lastly, I never want to find myself consumed with worry or fear ever again. Life is too short and precious to waste on things that are out of my control. Even if I sometimes don’t know what I’m going to do at some point in my life, at least I know it’s my decision to be happy or not no matter where I am.

How I did it: I kept putting this off because of everyday distractions. I was also fighting my own self doubt in my abilities to paint. It can be so discouraging to spend hours on something that just won't come out right, but once I let myself relax and stopped worrying it came to me easily. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I told people I wanted to get volunteer hours and they gave me suggestions. My friend was my connection with a leader at the Boys and Girls club who ended up needing a nutrition educator. Perfect! I also tried my teachers and explored different clubs at my college. Read how I did it…
Rice Krispie Treats. Yes, I am serious. This is the first time I made them BUT to make things interesting, I stacked the squares into a pyramid and covered them with ribbons of pink and green icing. It was like an abstract painting of delicious-ness
After staying with a really easy part time job that was taking me nowhere, I tried moving up with another more challenging and part-time job that promised better pay. WRONG. It didn’t work out so great and I felt like my talents were being overlooked.
Six months into the job I found out about an opportunity to be a nutrition educator. I didn’t think I had a great chance but I went for it and I was so happily surprised when I got a call back and they offered me the job! My first full day is tomorrow. It’s full time and has sooo much potential for advancment in many different ways.
I just need to not goof up and i’ll be that much closer to financial independency!
