Hiya everyone …
I’m a sucess from the ‘go a week without alcohol’ group, so after the detox, I thought I would join up here.
I used to drink everyday, but I really don’t need to. Or want to.
For now my goal is to limit drinking to weekends and special occasions.
(And Christmas is a special occassion! Hehehehe)

I don’t want to put the nail in my coffin for giving up by clicking on the magic ‘I’ve done this’ box, but….
I’VE DONE THIS !!!
As I wrote last week, I gave up becuase I was sick and really couldn’t stand the smell of ciggies, but now I’ve gone out with my mates to a few bars and night clubs and been in situations where I would normally chain smoke my way through a pack of 20, and haven’t.
Sometimes it would take a bit of willpower from me – it’s easy to give into the temptation… but maily, I only want to smoke for something do, not for the cigarette itself.
It’s got me thinking about what makes me smoke in the first place… and every situation that I smoke in, has been habitual.
So, my top tip for quitting is to disassociate smoking with the other thing you’re doing:
Don’t smoke while you’re on the phone
Don’t smoke while you’re watching the TV
Don’t smoke while you’re on the computer
Don’t smoke while you’re making dinner
and the hardest:
Don’t smoke while you’re out at a bar/nightclub (or where alcohol is involved!).
I found it easier to do one at a time and gradually cut back.
Only You know the right way for you to stop… the above is just a tip.
Best of luck Quitting peeps
