Stretch my ears (read all 2 entries…)
EARS! 20 months ago

ONE of mine is at 10mm and the other is at 9mm… it’s a bit stubborn so I’m leaving it a while.

My mum thinks I’m still at 6mm
had some really nice grape kaos tunnels at 8mm but alas… too small.

Luckily my conches are going to 8mm and for now I have one in my 8mm helix :D

I’m a big fan of silicone :D

get my lip pierced
God I haven't been here in a while.... 20 months ago

Well I originally planned to get my lip pierced once… in the middle, but it seems I went a bit crazy after that. I have had up to 5 at one time, snakebites, labret and vertical snakebites, but I had to take one of those out due to migration.

Few Tips:

Get it pierced with a labret stud, not a ring. I don’t care if you think they look stupid or something, it’s better in case it swells up, if you have a ring it will cut in, and even if it’s big enough it wll move about and make scar tissue.

While I’m on that point, don’t turn it. Just leave it alone, turning it pulls the crusties into the hole and prolongs healing (yes I know that’s a lovely mental image)

I don’t suggest getting it changed to a ring after 6 weeks. My snakebites would flare up If I changed to a ring til they were 4 months old…. seriously, it’s not long.

Don’t get it numbed, whether it be with ice, numbing spray or painkillers. Ice on it will make it sore, numbing spray prolongs healing and doesn’t do much (I had my labret numbed and not my snakebites, no difference in pain at all) and taking painkillers thins the blood and you’ll bleed loads.

Oh and go to a professional. Doing it yourself is a bad idea for hygiene and other reasons involving the veins in your lip.

Oh and for healing, no alcohol or oral contact at all for 2 weeks. That stands for kissing or othe oral contact :D

Cleaning: I suggest washing your mouth out after food or drink with non-alcoholic mouthwash, and the outside I just clean off with warm water in the shower.

Follow that and you’ll have a happy healing piercing
