This is something I have wanted to do for a while now and after looking into it I think it is possible. There is a flight school close by and I might go for an introductory flight where I get a preflight briefing, then I get to fly with an instructor who allows me to do most of the flying, and then a postflight briefing! I think this would be an amazing experience and if I love it, there may be potential for a recreational license :)

How I did it: I found a tear-away ad on a telephone pole advertising all sorts of dance classes however this sat on the fridge for a little while. One day I saw a time written on the bottom and after putting two and two together I ruined a special someones attempt to surprise me with private lessons...WOOPS! The class was great and the private lesson made me feel so much more comfortable with making mistakes and stepping on toes (ouch!) plus I know exa… Read how I did it…
The other night I cooked a Thai dish called crispy beef and it was delicious! Nothing too complicated but it was very tasty with lots of different textures. I think that this may be my new signature dish!
Just returned from a great trip to Algonquin Park. What an adventure that was considering it snowed there the day before we arrived! YIKES I should have packed some warmer clothing :S (I will know for next time!). The Park was gorgeous, trees everywhere, and the only sounds are those of yourselves and the animals scurrying in the forest around you (such a change from the city!).
DAY 1: planned to wake up at 7 am (hehe we all know that didnt happen), hit the snooze and eventually crawled out of bed at 7:45
-car packed and we are ready to go at 8:45
-arrive at the visitors centre and get a map and sign the guest book :)
-check in and find our campsite
-set up!
-go exploring! Walked around the park and made our own hiking trail in the woods only to discover that there are mud monsters that eat hiking shoes and lots of animal poo to avoid stepping in!
-attempt to build a fire (in the pouring rain, for the first time lol…yep that was interesting :P)
-get the fire going and have a great night talking and eating around it!
-had a new friend, aka a hug raccoon that wouldnt leave us alone (and maybe I was a little afraid of it lol)
-sleep, at least attempt to sleep considering it dropped to around 2 degress!
DAY 2- wake up to the sound of the birds…at 5 am!
-go on a medium level hike around peck lake which was lots of fun and extremely scenic
-go for a long canoe ride around canoe lake, was a lot of fun and extremely amusing both on and off the water, the real challenge is getting in and out of the canoe without falling into the water!
-make a raging fire, likely due to the absence of the rain, grill some burgers, corn, potatoes, and steaks, oh and the marshmallows! (which i burned my mouth on and manages to get on my glasses, jacket, fingers, and face!)
-sleep, a little warmer but still freezing and there was a frost warning
DAY 3- Manage to sleep in till 10am
-pack up everything after chowing down on some breakfast
-walk down to the beach to enjoy some last minute bliss
-count bug bites! I managed only one :D
-fill out comment card and leave the park
All in all it was a great trip and I am sure I will be returning!
