How I did it: I work at a summer camp, and though they have coffee there, it's not very good. Maybe Camp wasn't the best time to pick, since it's a job that requires me to be energetic for long hours at a time, but when is it a good time to do anything? The first few days I did have some headaches and I was tired. But this definitely made me conscious of just how dependent I was on coffee.I did drink tea over the week, but I even like decaf … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Freeing! If you don't feel ready to delete it completely, you could always try going without it for a week. I did that a couple weeks ago, and it was eye opening: I typed facebook into the address bar without even thinking about it, and found myself checking facebook too many times a day. I will be on a plane headed home from school. Until then, I will be up to my ears in English papers. Four of them, to be exact.
Current status:
Fualkner paper: rough draft
Fitzgerald paper: rough draft
Victorian Gothic Masculinity: rough draft in progress
Victorian Lit & Disability: planning
My goal is to have rough drafts of all four of these complete by this Sunday evening. Then I’ll have a week to do some leisurely revision and study for an exam I have. Onward!
Matilda (Dahl), As I Lay Dying (Faulkner), Libra (DeLillo), Manhattan Transfer (Dos Passos), and Mr. Sammler’s Planet (Bellow).
