How I did it: First, I cleared everything out of the garage. I rented a PODS unit and just left it in the driveway to keep the stuff in temporarily. Then I hired a contractor to put drywall on the walls. Then I painted the drywall with Super White, and did the window sills with a vermillion color. The protesters in Iran want 1 million people outside of Tehran to change their settings on Twitter to the Tehran time zone. This makes it very hard or impossible for officials to shut down the Twitter accounts and connections in Tehran.
Tehran’s time zone is GMT +3.30 (including current DST there). Just go to your main Twitter page, pull down the Settings menu, and change the time zone. Tell everyone you know!
I’ve decided that instead of getting another degree, I’m going to volunteer as a tutor for kids who need help in school. There’s a local program I’ve joined that sets you up with kids in classrooms. This is a better idea for someone like me (over 40, already has work and a couple of degrees).
I still have some odds and ends to do: tarping the ceiling, painting some shelves, getting the carpet cleaned, but I’m going to call this goal met. It’s great to have the extra space! Even the cats like it.
