I am somewhat proficient in Paint Shop Pro, but trying to make a shirt in SL got me to learn about “layers” (which I had never needed to use before). Once I understood how that worked, I would flood fill the t-shirt template LL offers on the website, and cut and paste my own words or image on top of the shirt. Then, I’d just save it as a Targa (.TGA) file and import it! It took a little trial and error, what with the way an avatar’s shoulders bunch together, to get words and pictures to look okay on a person, but eventually I got the hang of it.
It’s a lot of fun to do, and now I can do impromptu shirts for birthdays and such easily.

There are a lot of places around my area for hiking, and most are pretty cool. However, I’ve been to all of them, and if I want to visit them again it’s as easy as shutting my eyes. Unless I find a new interesting place to hike to, I have stopped doing it. What I really need is a friend who hasn’t seen them, so I can take them along to show them the views. I particularly like hiking to the top of something, where you get an amazing vista.

I went on a big Europe tour (3 weeks, Istanbul, Athens, Vienna, Munich) and of all the places, Istanbul was the most exotic. Not so exotic that I felt totally out of place, but still very different from Oregon :)
I highly recommend it, but try to go in a tour so you have less trouble seeing the sights. We had an excellent guide that knew the good times to go, etc, so you don’t waste a lot of the day getting from place to place or waiting in line. Or for that matter, read a lot about the subject! I was surprised that I really didn’t need to know much of the local language either, since there is a lot of tourism around and many different languages were represented most places.
Anyway, a wonderful trip, and I think about it often!
