Pandoc is great

Just discovered Pandoc which is a platform independent command line program that can handle Markdown files. My favorite feature about Pandoc is that it can even convert HTML files to Markdown encoded TXT files. Which is just what I needed as now it is trivial to convert the few format dependent documents that I have from DOC or RTF to HTML before taking them to Markdown files. Also if one uses windows MarkdownPad is another great program which provides a text editor on the left side for writing Markdown text files with a few shortcut features with a real time HTML preview on the right side. Only thing that I have against it is that unlike Notepad++ it does not have spellcheck but oh well the combination of the two programs still get the job done.

Kidnap the cheer fairy and have a stern talk with her about the (un)availability of cheers when I need them (read all 4 entries…)
Step Four - There Is No Step Four

Ok so as I mentioned before I had the cheer fairy in my trap who was refusing to listen or work with me. Which made it clear that a more forceful approach was clearly needed. I must admit that it was really tempting to take out a pair of scissors and slowly start clipping away at tiny parts of her wings until she started to listen. Although in the end I’m happy to report that I did not give in to the temptation to torture the little cheer fairy of 43 Things. I just settled for the good old American alternative to torture known as water boarding, which I stepped up a level with ice water. Which in theory should have worked fine, although the problem was that nobody told me that fairies or at least the cheer fairy variety melts when submerged in ice water. So now instead of a cheer fairy problem we are left with a little pile of soggy pixie dust. Although that is nothing to worry about as it turns out that the now deceased cheery fairy apparently was not behind the delivery of cheers as I still receive cheers after that little water boarding accident. So it turns out that this cheer fairy variety appears to be a subset of or a confused tooth fairy type fairy which mistakes our cheers as something that we are leaving out to be taken away. So until it becomes clear that there was only one cheer fairy that is now gone, I suggest keeping your extra cheers in a glass of ice water just in case there was more than one cheer fairy in order to make sure they stay safe until you are ready to use them.
