I’m almost ready to say I am doing this daily. It has had a lot to do with building confidence and filling up the areas of my life so I know I have lots of things to fall back on. The book “Feel the Fear and do it Anyway” has really helped and I still reference it now and then.

Become a vegetarian (read all 3 entries…)

Just needed that last push 10 months ago

I wanted to be a vegetarian for almost all the reasons out there; environmental, health, animal rights, etc, but I was having a hard time giving up the poultry. One day, I was watching How It’s Made on one of the science channels and the episode was about hatcheries for chickens. A few minutes into the show I was red-faced and bawling my eyes out, but I made myself watch the whole thing. After that, there has been no more meat. And for me, it’s not that I think meat eating is wrong, it’s just our horrid, cruel, factory farming system and its chain of ill-effects across the globe which make me know that if I care about the environment, animals, health, and people, then I need to be vegetarian.

Need more time! 10 months ago

Took some classes and did really well. Mostly, I love reconstructing old clothing. Finally got a basic Sears machine and learned how to use it. Threadbanger.com all the way!! Now, if only I had more time to devote!
