33 and a half.

So, I didn’t quite manage the book a week goal but I have really enjoyed taking on this challenge. On my 24th birthday I was still reading the last Artemis and I had already decided I wasn’t going to rush through it. So in total I managed 33 whole books. Which isn’t too bad really. An average of about 11 days a book.

The best part has been keeping a record of what I have read. It’s nice to look back over the year and see what’s happened.

I’m defiitely going to keep up the reading. I’ve already lined up my next book which I plan to start tomorrow. Maybe this time I can make the ultimate 52?

Days Four to Eleven

Oh dear. I’ve not done this. Must make more effort!

Day Four: Sunday 16th September 2012
I didn’t feel very well last Sunday. I had a horrible cold and really didn’t feel too good at all. However, I did manage in the morning to go through most of my emails and I didn’t complain when I had to get up after I’d taken myself to bed and relatives came round.

Day Five: Monday 17th September 2012
First day back for a full day of work. It dragged but I did get some good inputting done. I carried on deleting emails when I got home. Not leaving a job half finished; I’m pretty pleased with myself.

Day Six: Tueday 18th September 2012
This was hugely busy day at work. I spent pretty much the whole day on the phone which isn’t my favourite part of the job. I was mostly trying to rearrange people’s appointments, but the whole office was really hectic. Strangely enough I took it all in my stride whereas normally I would be cross and stressed.

Day Seven: Wednesday 19th September 2012
Pretty much the same as the previous day. It was just a continaution of the same really. It was either today of yesterday that I was given my official letter sating that I had got the maternity cover for administrator which means I’ll be getting paid full for the work extra work I do again. Also, big plus point is that I don’t have to have the standard probationary period for secondments this time round!

Day Eight: Thursday 20th September 2012
I’ll be honest it was a bit of a lazy day today. The office was dead so myself and my fab admin apprentice took the opportunity to have a calm day. I did however arrange to meet a friend from work at the weekend for a quick hunt round a vintage fair so that was nice.

Day Nine: Friday 21st September 2012
The main thing I would say from today was listening to a ranty man on the phone for about 20 minutes. I remained very professional and was eventualy able to get rid of him. I also went back to doing proper work-well done me. =]

Day Ten: Saturday 22nd September 2012
Excellent day today. I went to a vintage fair and got some great purchases. I beautiful old trunk, a vantity case and some lovely dishes. The best thing about this though was that I managed some very basic haggling! I got £15 of the trunk and £5 of the vanity case. The dishes were the first thing I bought and it hadn’t occured to me to ask for money off!

I have downloaded the app.

And I am ready to go.
Did my initial test yesterday: 20. Hmm. It’s a long way to 100 from there…
