So it took me a bit of practice but I got the regular knit figured out. My next lesson in the book it pearling. I also need to practice with tension. I know if a grandma can do this do can I.

So I have mastered casting on. This was something that almost made me throw in the towel. I bought a teach yourself how to knit book thinking this would be the easiest way to learn. The book has a lot of diagrams of fingers and yarn and needles all twisted up. Gosh those are hard to duplicate. Well through much trial and error I figured out casting on. Oh boy can I cast. I think I even managed to make a knit on one row, but when I turned the needle around to go back the other way I’m pretty stumped. I can’t make another row of knitting. It doesn’t look the same. I think I’m going to have to you tube this or something. This is way harder than it looks!
I decided that it was time to get started on this goal. It has been on my list for a long time. I bought a “I taught myself to knit” book and a skein (I think that’s the word) of pink yarn to practice. I hope this is fun!
