It’s just too disjointed. When you text, you don’t interact. It’s like uttering a broken sonnet in pitch blackness. What you’re saying is muddled, and oft misunderstood. Timing is nothing, and it doesn’t matter how fast you respond. Not only does it corrupt communication as itself, but it takes up your time in the real world too—anytime someone texts you, you must read and respond instantly, and thus this broken channel of communication is fast becoming our number one priority (think, if someone texted you right now you’d instantly stop reading and check it). How can people stand this? It’s as if our attention span is reduced to 160 character bursts these days…
