How I did it: I had a tough proving ground. I was basically learning how to drive a stick shift in the Rocky Mountains, so it was sink or swim for me. I have to step up my speaking and comprehension of Spanish majorly if I want to be able to communicate with my girlfriend’s family. They also speak a distinct dialect and accent that’s nothing like the Spanish I learned in school. How’s that for motivation?
