I think I am getting one…slowly. I feel like it, lol.
So far I have taken a job, finding the courage to go up to people to chat, meet new people and some other bits and pieces of social acts here and there. I am realizing that being this timid and introvert person I am, actually intimidates and drives people away. So it turns into “mutual shyness”, which I find to be interesting, but true.
My point is(was) that getting a life depends to some extent on people around us. They enable us to find out about and do things we wouldn’t otherwise do and discover. If we know how to delegate, network and socialize with the right people, get out there and physically do something, it affects our mental perception on the lives we are living. I mean, there is no such thing as “getting a life”, but its what you make of it and how you see it. So it is kind of changing your perspective on the kind of life you are living.
I hope when i come up here later I don’t realize that my entry makes no sense at all, lol.
I live right by the Charles River in Boston, yet I haven’t been on it once even with this goal up on my list. Oh the shame, lol.
Seriously though, I at least want to take up rowing as a recreation, not necessarily competitively (not that i would have stood a chance if i wanted to). I guess I am scared of being rejected by clubs, as I have a way too small figure and I was told in a very harsh and even degrading manner in the past that I was too small to row..:( I wish i was a 200lb pro athlete, darn.
