-Today was the first day of my new volunteering job, and I think I made a stellar first impression. It may not seem like much, but I know that somewhere down the line is an opportunity just waiting for me to capture it. After the rut I’ve been in, it felt so good being productive and contributing to something bigger than I. Yes, today was a good day :)

Over the past year or so, my itch for photography has become more and more apparent; I miss capturing viewing the world through my viewfinder and capturing life in still images. Being in a darkroom is one of those things that truly grows on you, and I miss it because it forced me to adapt to a new way of doing things. Luckily, I plan on picking up my camera soon and snapping shots every chance I get!
It’s amazing how friendships work-some trickle out, some waver, and like the flame of a persistent candle, some prevail. I spent time with a friend, who along with she and her family will be moving away. As of late it’s been hard for me to meet new people. However, spending time with such a cherished friend reminded me that although there will be a physical distance between us, our bond can never be stretched thin.
It’s that type of reassurance that tells me no matter what befalls me, I can always count on not only her, but the other people who were truly meant to be in my life.
