Well, I pretty much had to throw in the towel on RPM and FAWM this year – life just kind of got in the way. However, I did manage to write a new song (Come Down Where You Ought To Be) and record 3 of my old ones.

I’ve added “On My Own Again” and “Here” to the video player on Clif.tv – check em out. I’ll get the 3rd one up soon and get everything into the audio player for downloading, so stay tuned.

I’ve always wanted to REALLY learn a second language. I took 3 years of French in high school, which came in handy the one time I was lost in Paris. I was doing OK with conversational German after living there for 5 years.

But neither of those seem very practical, as far as getting to use them more than once every couple of years. Spanish seems like the way to go, because although I’ll be starting from the beginning, I think there’s more possibility that it will be useful on a more regular basis. If nothing else, I’ll be able to order drinks in Mexico :)

So… as previously stated on my blog, I had fully intended to complete February Album Writing Month and RPM Challenge this month by writing and recording 14 new songs, thus meeting the criteria for both. I accomplished this last year, releasing Clockwork Angels as Echo Root.

However, Winter Storm 2009 and other circumstances have left me with much less than enough time to write enough songs this month, so I have decided to exercise the “previously unreleased” clause for RPM Challenge. The plan now is to record 9 of my existing songs that haven’t been previously recorded and combine those with “Come Down Where You Ought To Be” to complete my new album in the next week. Still a stretch, but not impossible.
