Believe it or not… I actually did this: created my own online community. Definitely more work than I ever expected… and I’m still working on getting the word out. It’s really difficult to get people to sign up and build your community when you have to compete against the likes of other more mainstream and dominant sites out there. But definitely worth it.

it’s actually quite satisfying to start your own website and I would encourage others to do the same. Of course, you must be prepared for the other tasks that lies ahead. Creating a website is only half the battle. The other half involves more work with driving traffic and learning how to market your site. Also, there are other expenses: server maintainence, advertising, plus the time and effort you put in to make sure everything goes smoothly.
started a website and building traffic around it is really a tough task – far more difficult than I first imagined. I’m sure by now everyone has heard about the ever-so-popular myspace. Well, I was fed up with that site and its numerous problems (such as server shutdowns, lack of speed, constant advertisements) and well… finally was able to launch MyTrendSpot.com on October 1st (you can visit it at www.mytrendspot.com). Now, I’m working on my next project and it’s been delayed a few times. But I’m sure it will be ready sometime in February. In any case, good luck!
