How I did it: I am happy I stopped, but the reason is not a happy one, so that's why I selected "neutral" for how it made me feel.I can not recommend this as a solution, but it all started with the death of my mother. Her life-long overbearing personality apparently was at the root of my nail biting, as I stopped almost immediately after she died. I now have strong nails, reasonable cuticles, and no desire at all to bit them. I don't even w… Read how I did it…
I have one week to fill six bags with trash and clutter.
I just got an Amazon shipment, so I have a half bag of packing material already!
My trashman will pickup only 6 bags of trash per week, so that’s why I picked 6 bags.
It’s built up recently and I really need to do something about it… I have this silly mental thing where I don’t want to take a bag outside unless I can take it to the road right away, and I haven’t been doing that, so, yeah, it’s getting bad.
It started out as clutter, but the messiness of the clutter led to apathy, and now actual trash is involved. :::shudder:::
So, I give myself permission to break the rules and put the bags out to the curb before you are “suppose to”.
No. More. Excuses!
I thought lifting my depression would automatically translate to living a better life… not so! The things you do, or don’t do/let slide/stop giving a crap about, when dealing with the daily struggle of living with depression, over time become habits… and habits do not go away without a lot of effort.
So, today I declutter. I’m going to start off very small, by simply topping off the three trash bags that are already in use.
Just thinking about it makes me want to go back to bed.
Ugh.
