went to a concert – got a bit mashed up.. and LOST MY GLASSES.. damn I remember being really careful about looking after them.. but still here I am back at home without them.
Now I have to wait 2 days for the central police station to tell me if they turned up in the lost and found. Thats assuming that 40, 000 people didnt walk on them as they were leaving the stadium.
Darn.. $700 down the drain.
now just have to meet one in person (er.. dog). Have located the only breeder nationwide, contacted her. She has puppies! Will be meeting with her and her dogs when she travels to auckland at the end of the month.. all going well
crazy wallpaper.. hate all of it. Its ALL going. Only a matter of time..
Spent ages researching which guitar to get! found the one, drove a mile to buy it. Was playing a little each day until the 3 year old learnt that screaming resulted in me stopping.
Havent picked it up since.
Im so over screaming.. but not yet over the guitar. My time will come :)
Dad was ex SAS so we spent every single holiday out on the nz tracks. Every large and small track you can think of ive done it. At the time I recall feeling like I was missing out. My friends were off to tropical islands.. I was off to Stuart island. They went to the beach, we scambled over passes and pitched tents in howling storms.
Now in hingsight I see that my parents gave me a gift that no amount of lying on a beach could possibly replicate.
I really loved caving pre kids.. now its kind of on the back burner.. not too keen loosing the kids off a ledge so they are not going with me .. yet.
Wonder if I will ever get back to it..
this frustrates me soooo much! there is a russian letter of the alphabet that I can not pronounce because of this.. is it possible to learn??
this has to be the most beautiful sound on the planet when it comes to language.. I started classes some time back then got distracted.. one day..
from memory I had trouble with the equivalent of “w”.. I cant roll my “r”s!!!
all of it entirely memorable!! I remember scallops swimming backwards, someone holding on to a rays tail for a ride, someone breaking the rules and smashing open a kina so the fish would crowd us. The colours all fading out the deeper we got – then shining a torch on the underwater world and being so surprised at the myriad of rainbow colours visible!
Currently I am home full time with the kids. Im researching like mad working towards a decision on getting a dog or not.
A site I have found very interesting (there are so many that give you the multi question test and hey presto heres the breed right for you!) is this one;
http://www.glowdog.com/bestdog/
you see specific breed traits (which should only be used as a guide not 100% accurate as dogs are individuals)
Im leaning towards the Sealyham terrier – who has a low excercise rating. I initially wanted a dog to go running with – but I cant promise I will be running for the next 15 years! Another motivation is I would like to expand the experience the children have in their childhood.
Would love to gear from other mums who have taken the plunge. Im going to start dog sitting for another owner (different breed but similar size) to get the feel for how life is with another house member / commitment!
PS I am now looking back and so GRATEFUL that I DIDNT get a dog pre kids. Dogs have a reasonable life span! If you end up having kids there is a HUGE amount of demand on your time and energy. I ended up having a daughter and then twins. And for the last 4 years I couldnt even cope with the cat!!! If you think kids might be on the cards for you MAKE SURE you think through what becomes of your dog if decide you cant cope. Dogs are not disposable.
I think if I was in the states in this neck of the woods I would do. However.. i would only be in it for the art. Not sure if I would make a pilgramige yet tho..
The bestest machines in the world. I made the big mistake of selling mine when I had kids, thinking life would not accomodate kids and a vespa. Boy was I wrong!!! would buy another 200cc in a heartbeat. If you get one pays to look up local clubs to learn about maintenance or which shops are the shops that dont rip you off on repairs. Also worth getting a motorcycle license for, and if i can give you one peice of advice be VERY VERY careful in wet weather especially cornering!! and DONT double until you are very confident. Have a friend who screwed up his girlfriends leg very badly coming off going around a corner too fast.
