trying to sign up for some once a week lessons though having some communication problems. also having some doubts about whether this is something I should be spending time on right now—there are so many things I need to be doing. If the communication doesn’t work out, I won’t be troubled – I’ll just keep learning on my own and enjoying the freedom of not having to take the time to go to and from lessons.

How I did it: Spent a semester in Wales during university and then several years later joined some friends working in a development org in southwestern China where I still am, teaching English - a lot easier than one might expect and truly an adventure every day! Read how I did it…
How I did it: stopped being afraid it wouldn't look like I imagined and just started putting it together using the bklet I got the original granny square patterns from. The entire time on the afghan was, I think, over the course of 6 months, obviously not full time. I did the assembly during my free time in 2-4 days - whip-stitch so really easy. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I was wasting all my time trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing with my life and I wasn't doing any of the things that I felt pulled toward. Finally I said, the heck with this planning thing, I'm going to start doing one of these things on my list and see where things lead, one day at a time. So grateful to God for what He has called me to do, so excited to be where I am doing what I'm doing. I may not do it forever - might… Read how I did it…

yay – had dropped this one way down my goal list b/c of other priorities, but actually ended up making mac’n’cheese (the real stuff – only way to cook or eat it!) this week AND shared with a friend who’s always being generous w/ extra bits of her culinary productions. Not the most complex thing, but it was nice to have it, especially since I already had the ingredients so I wasn’t spending more money.
just saw an announcement for a mountain bike race on some bike trails down near XiShan and that got me thinking these or some nearby might be trails I could make use of for trail running… wary of running on bike trails, but dying to try my new Nike trail runners off road – I miss the forests and fields, man!
