Vast gulfs in understanding 2 years ago

It baffles me somewhat when people don’t get this goal.

Not when people aren’t making it a priority; I realize we all prioritize our lives differently. But when people genuinely don’t understand why I’m bothering to do things like budget for Christmas gifts in December or try to pull together the gas money to go see my sister (a 720 mile round trip) without putting it on my credit card.

I don’t know, maybe I’m obsessive about following my budget.

Platelets 2 years ago

Well, I had my first platelet donation this Saturday. It actually went pretty quickly, since apparently I have really good platelets for some reason. (Seriously, the tech was teasing me that he was jealous about my platelet count.)

The needles in both arms is an interesting experience, since you’re basically immobalized for over an hour, but I got to watch a movie.

I think I’m going to try to donate platelets every 2 weeks, since I’m A+ and I’m more useful as a platelet donator than a blood donator. Next time they want to take out 3 cycles (they took out two this time) since my count is so high and I can spare it.

And I felt fine afterwards.

Definatly worth doing.

reduce clutter
Clutter 2 years ago

I’ve been feeling really crowded lately and realized that I’ve accumulated all of this crap over the years that I never even look at.

So I spent this weekend de-cluttering. Organizing files, putting stuff I don’t want any more into a pile, going through my closet (I went through my closet with a couple of friends who told me what to keep and what to get rid of, and lost half my clothes.)

Got rid of an old computer that I’ve been meaning to do something with. I’m still in process, but the next step is to haul all the stuff I want to get rid of to our local thrift-store drop-off. (I live in Utah and we have an organization called Deseret Industries, or the DI, run by the local church that takes donations and either resells them at a low price or uses them for charity.)

I can already breathe easier.
